DESCRIPTION:This year’s Midsummer Shakespeare Festival features “Measure for Measure.” This event is sponsored by Ophelia’s Jump Productions and Pomona College. \nThe beautiful lawns surrounding the Sontag Greek Theatre at Pomona College are perfect for picnicking.  Doors open at 6:00pm on Thursday and Friday and at 5:30 pm on Saturday & Sunday for picnicking and relaxing before the performance.  Picnic Blankets are recommended.  The seating at the Sontag consists of concave stone benches most of which do not have a back.  Comfy backed stadium seats will be available for rental.  Beach chairs are not allowed.   \nOn Saturdays and Sunday community vendors\, artisans\, and organizations set up booths and games.  Stop at the photo booth\, enjoy a Bert & Rocky’s frozen lemonade\, or pick up a one-of-a-kind cigar box guitar.  Activities are family friendly and support Ophelia’s Jump’s non-profit mission as well as other local non-profits and educational organizations.

All performances begin at 8:00 p.m.\nPrior to the performance\, the campus will be open early to accommodate picnickers\, with booths featuring artists and artisanal vendors. There will also be a nightly Green Show (a pre- show entertainment) starting at 7pm.  Concessions including craft beer\, wine and snacks will be available.\nFor the uninitiated:\nTwelfth Night is a romantic comedy. The play centers on the twins Viola and Sebastian\, who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola (who is disguised as Cesario) falls in love with Duke Orsino\, who in turn is in love with Countess Olivia. DESCRIPTION:This event is sponsored by Ophelia’s Jump Productions and Pomona College.\nOPHELIA’S JUMP PRESENTS\nTWELFTH NIGHT AT THE SONTAG GREEK THEATRE ANNUAL MIDSUMMER SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL IN CLAREMONT\nOphelia’s Jump Productions presents the Annual Midsummer Shakespeare Festival with TWELFTH NIGHT\, a co-production with Pomona College.. The play will be presented at the College?s Sontag Greek Theatre. Twelfth Night\, is directed by Caitlin Lopez  and runs Thursdays through Sundays\, July 15 through 25. All performances begin at 8:00 p.m.\nPrior to the performance\, the campus will be open early to accommodate picnickers\, with booths featuring artists and artisanal vendors. There will also be a nightly Green Show (a pre- show entertainment) starting at 7pm.  Concessions including craft beer\, wine and snacks will be available.\nFor the uninitiated:\nTwelfth Night is a romantic comedy. The play centers on the twins Viola and Sebastian\, who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola (who is disguised as Cesario) falls in love with Duke Orsino\, who in turn is in love with Countess Olivia. Upon meeting Viola\, Countess Olivia falls in love with her thinking she is a man.\nNow a Claremont tradition\, Ophelia’s Jump Midsummer Shakespeare Festival artfully presents a theatrical experience under the stars in a beautiful outdoor setting. Each performance opens nightly with a 30-minute Green Show – an entertaining prelude to the evening’s main performance. We invite you to bring your own picnic and don’t forget a small blanket or stadium seat for added comfort.  Local restaurants and businesses will be offering special in-restaurant dining menus and selected take-out options to enjoy prior to all performances.\nOn Saturdays and Sundays\, come early for special Festival days featuring artisans\, vendors and community groups creating a special pre-show fair.\nThe Midsummer Shakespeare Festival is also presented with the support of producers Janell and Randall Lewis\, Carol Sorgenfrei\, Discover Claremont and with special support from Claremont Craft Ales and Last Name Brewery.
