ABOUT THE RESTAURANT
Espiau’s is a Mexican Restaurant located in Claremont, California. The restaurant was founded in 1890 by French immigrant Espiau, a grape grower and winemaker. With prohibition in 1919, he closed the winery and entered the retail business, eventually becoming the present-day restaurant. Espiau’s maternal grandmother was Sara Martinez, a descendant of Don Ricardo Vejar. He was one of the grantees of the 20,000-acre land grant from Mexican Governor Juan B. Alvarado (later called Pomona Valley). It is clear why Mexican food is proudly served at the restaurant.
Espiau’s Restaurante Y Cantina moved to Claremont in 1992, becoming a popular destination for locals and tourists. This awesome Mexican Restaurant features a large all-weather patio, a sidewalk patio, and a separate banquet facility with its own patio. There is also live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Espiau’s is the perfect place to enjoy delicious Mexican food while watching your favorite team on one of the 20+ flat-screen TVs. And don’t forget about Happy Hour every Tuesday from 4 pm to 6 pm!
So whether you’re looking for a quick bite or a night out on the town, be sure to swing by Espiau’s! Ariba!
